Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Selfora ("the app", "we", "us") is developed and distributed by TheKnack. Questions or concerns: selfora.support@theknack.dev.

2. What stays on your device

Selfora stores your content locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's SwiftData. We do not upload, mirror, or read this content. The data on your device includes:

• Your favorited affirmations
• Affirmations you write yourself
• Your collections (named lists)
• Your streak and practice history
• Your preferences — goals, name (if you entered one), theme, font, and notification settings

On iOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence, the optional Pro personal affirmation generator uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. Generation runs entirely on your device; nothing is sent to a server.

3. Device backups (managed by Apple, you control them)

Selfora does not sync your data between devices and does not use its own cloud. If you use iCloud Backup or back your device up to a computer, your Selfora data is included in that backup like any other app's data. Backups are managed and encrypted by Apple (or stored on your computer); we, TheKnack, have no access to them and never see your Apple ID, email, or iCloud credentials. Restoring a new device from your backup carries your Selfora data over; setting a device up as new starts fresh.

4. What we do collect (only anonymous diagnostics)

Selfora sends anonymous, non-identifying diagnostics to TelemetryDeck — a privacy-respecting analytics provider. The only data points we emit are:

• Product interaction — anonymous events such as "feed opened", "paywall shown", "practice completed" (no content, just that it happened)
• Crash data — stack traces that help us fix bugs
• Performance data — launch time and memory footprint

None of this data includes the text of your affirmations, your favorites, your name, your Apple ID, your email, or any way to identify you personally. TelemetryDeck receives anonymized signals only and is not used to build a profile of you. Read their privacy stance: telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

These three data types — Crash Data, Performance Data, and Product Interaction — are exactly what Selfora declares in its App Store privacy manifest. All three are not linked to your identity and are not used for tracking.

5. What we do not do

• We do not require an account, sign-up, or login.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
• We do not use advertising identifiers, and we never show ads.
• We do not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt — there is nothing to track.
• We do not integrate third-party SDKs beyond TelemetryDeck.

6. App Store purchases

If you purchase Selfora Pro (monthly, yearly, or lifetime), Apple processes the transaction. We receive a receipt from Apple that confirms your subscription status; we do not receive your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data: apple.com/legal/privacy.

7. Notifications

Selfora can send affirmation reminders if you enable notifications. These are scheduled locally on your device via Apple's notification system; no push server is involved, and the affirmation text never leaves your device. You choose how many you receive and the time window. You can change or disable reminders anytime in iPhone Settings → Selfora → Notifications, or inside Selfora under the Me tab.

8. HealthKit

If you complete a practice session, Selfora can write mindful minutes to Apple Health, with your permission. This is write-only — Selfora does not read any of your health data. You can revoke this permission anytime in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Selfora.

9. Children

Selfora is rated 4+ on the App Store. It does not contain age-restricted content. We do not collect personal data from anyone, including children, and we do not direct any data collection or advertising at children.

10. Data retention and deletion

Because your content lives on your device, you control it directly:

• Access: open the app — everything is there.
• Delete content: remove favorites, your own affirmations, or collections inside the app.
• Delete everything: delete the app, and all local data is removed with it.
• Backups: copies of your data may persist inside device backups you keep (iCloud Backup or computer backups) until those backups are deleted or rotate out; you manage them in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup or on your computer.

We retain no server-side copy of your content, because we never receive it.

11. Not a medical or therapy service

Selfora is a wellness and self-improvement tool. It is not a medical, psychological, therapeutic, or diagnostic service, and it does not treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Categories such as "Anxious Moments" and "Healing" offer supportive, reflective affirmations — they are not clinical treatment. If you are experiencing distress, anxiety, or a mental health concern, please consult a licensed health professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

12. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and other regions)

Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, most data-subject requests resolve on your device. For the anonymous diagnostics we collect:

• The signals sent to TelemetryDeck are anonymous and do not, on their own, identify you, so they generally fall outside the definition of personal data under most laws.
• We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. There is no "Do Not Sell or Share" action needed, because there is nothing to sell or share.
• If you wish, email us and we will delete any diagnostic data associated with your device's anonymous identifier, to the extent it is technically possible.

EU/EEA and UK residents retain all rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents retain all rights under the CCPA/CPRA.

13. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Selfora handles data, this page will update with a new effective date. Substantive changes will also be surfaced in-app on your next launch.

14. Governing law

This policy and the operation of Selfora are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Where European Union consumer protections (including the GDPR) provide stronger rights, those rights apply to EU residents.
