Frequently Asked Questions
Does Selfora send my affirmations to a server?
No. Your favorites, your own affirmations, your streak, and your settings stay on your device. On iOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence, the optional Pro personal generator runs on your device's Neural Engine. Nothing in the app sends your content to an external server.
Is my data backed up? What happens when I get a new phone?
Your favorites, your own affirmations, streak, and settings are stored locally and are included in your normal device backup (iCloud Backup, or a Mac/PC backup). When you set up a new iPhone by restoring from that backup, your Selfora data comes with it. Selfora does not sync live between devices — keep device backups on (Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup) so your data travels with you.
Do I need an account?
No account. No sign-up. No login. Open the app and start.
What does Selfora Pro unlock?
Premium affirmation categories, premium gradient themes, extra fonts, alternate app icons, unlimited affirmations you write yourself (free includes 3), up to 10 notifications a day (free includes 3), collections, photo card backgrounds, practice stats and history, watermark-free share cards, read affirmations aloud, and — on iOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence — the on-device AI personal affirmation generator. The feed, widgets, favorites, practice, and streak are always free.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Selfora → Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles refunds. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select the Selfora purchase. If Apple declines, email us and we'll see what we can do.
Can I use Selfora on my iPad and iPhone?
Yes. Install it on both — your Pro purchase applies to both devices through your Apple ID. Note that your favorites, streak, and settings are stored locally on each device and do not sync between them. On iPad, Selfora uses a sidebar layout at full canvas.
Do you support Family Sharing?
The Selfora Pro Lifetime unlock is Family Sharing eligible. The monthly and yearly subscriptions are not configured for Family Sharing.
How do notifications work?
You choose how many affirmation reminders you'd like (free up to 3 a day, Pro up to 10) and the time window they arrive in. The full affirmation text appears in the notification. They're scheduled locally on your device, so they work without any push server.
How do the widgets work?
Add a Selfora widget from your Home Screen or Lock Screen and it rotates through affirmations several times a day automatically. Widgets and category selection are free; custom widget theme styling is a Pro feature.
What is the AI personal generator?
On iOS 26 and later, on devices that support Apple Intelligence, Pro members can generate personal affirmations tailored to a goal you choose. It runs entirely on your device — nothing is sent to a server. On earlier devices, Selfora offers a rich template-based generator instead.
Will Selfora support other languages?
Version 1.0 ships in English only. We want to get the affirmation voice right in one language before expanding. Additional languages will come in future updates.
Troubleshooting
My notifications aren't arriving
Open iPhone Settings → Selfora → Notifications and make sure they're allowed. Then in Selfora, go to the Me tab → Notifications, confirm your daily count and time window, and toggle reminders off and back on. Notifications fire only within the window you set, so pick a window that includes the current time to test it.
My widget isn't updating
Widgets refresh on Apple's schedule, not instantly. Try removing the widget and adding it again. Make sure Background App Refresh is on (Settings → General → Background App Refresh) and that Low Power Mode is off, since Low Power Mode pauses widget timelines.
My streak reset or looks wrong
Streaks count calendar days in your device's time zone. If you travel across time zones or change the date manually, a day can be missed. If the count still looks wrong, email us with what you expected and what you see.
I bought Pro but it isn't showing / I'm on a new device
Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you used to buy. Restore re-applies your subscription or lifetime unlock from Apple's records.
My favorites are missing
Your data lives on the device where you created it. If you recently switched devices, your favorites transfer only when the new device was set up by restoring your old device's backup (iCloud Backup or a Mac/PC backup). If you set the new phone up as new, the data remains on the old device — restoring from a backup of the old device is the way to bring it across.
