Privacy Policy

Effective: July 9, 2026

The short version:

Cadora keeps the people you give to, their occasions, and your gift plans on your device using Apple's SwiftData, and — if you turn on iCloud — syncs them privately across your own Apple devices through your personal iCloud account. We never see any of it. There is no account with us and no login. We collect no data at all — no analytics, no telemetry. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we never show ads.

1. Who we are

Cadora ("the app", "we", "us") is developed and distributed by TheKnack. Questions or concerns: cadora.support@theknack.dev.

2. What stays on your device

Cadora stores your content locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's SwiftData. We do not upload, mirror, or read this content. The data on your device includes:

All of this belongs to you. We, TheKnack, never receive it, because there is no Cadora server and nothing is sent to us.

3. iCloud sync (your private iCloud, managed by Apple)

If you enable iCloud, Cadora keeps your data in sync across your own Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit private database — the private area of your iCloud account. This is the same mechanism Apple's own apps use. Your data is stored and encrypted in your personal iCloud, tied to your Apple ID; it is not shared with other users and is not sent to any TheKnack server. We have no access to your iCloud account, your Apple ID, your credentials, or the contents of your private database, and we never see your people, occasions, or gift plans.

iCloud sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud Terms. You control it in iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud. If you turn iCloud off, Cadora keeps your data on-device only.

4. What we collect: nothing

Cadora collects no data at all. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party analytics SDK in the app. We do not gather usage events, device identifiers, crash logs, or performance traces. Everything you enter — the names of your people, your occasions, your gift ideas, your photos, and your budgets — stays on your device (and, if you turn on iCloud, in your own private iCloud), and never reaches us. This is exactly what Cadora declares on its App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected.

5. What we do not do

6. Photos

If you add a photo to a person, Cadora stores that image with your on-device data (and in your private iCloud if sync is on). Photos are used only to display that person inside the app. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.

7. App Store purchases

If you purchase Cadora Pro (yearly subscription or lifetime unlock), Apple processes the transaction. We receive a receipt from Apple that confirms your entitlement status; we do not receive your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data: apple.com/legal/privacy.

8. Notifications

Cadora can send reminders so you don't miss an occasion. These are scheduled locally on your device via Apple's notification system; no push server is involved, and the details never leave your device. You choose whether to enable them, and you can change or disable reminders anytime in iPhone Settings → Cadora → Notifications, or inside Cadora.

9. App lock (Face ID / Touch ID)

Cadora offers an optional app lock. When enabled, the app asks for Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode before it opens. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple's on-device system (LocalAuthentication); Cadora never sees your biometric data — it only receives a yes/no result from the system. This setting is stored on your device.

10. Children

Cadora is rated 4+ on the App Store. It does not contain age-restricted content. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, and we do not direct any data collection or advertising at children.

11. Data retention and deletion

Because your content lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you control it directly:

We retain no server-side copy of your content, because we never receive it.

12. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and other regions)

Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, most data-subject requests resolve on your device and in your own iCloud:

EU/EEA and UK residents retain all rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents retain all rights under the CCPA/CPRA.

13. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Cadora handles data, this page will update with a new effective date. Substantive changes will also be surfaced in-app on your next launch.

14. Governing law

This policy and the operation of Cadora are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Where European Union consumer protections (including the GDPR) provide stronger rights, those rights apply to EU residents.
